Idaho Project Development

John is an Idaho-based wind developer and agricultural entrepreneur whose main focus, along with Idaho wind development, is his farming and livestock operations in Southwest Idaho.

John began his career in 1970s by founding and operating United Irrigation, which specialized in irrigation machine development that was deployed to the US, Canada, and the Middle East and developed a number of other agricultural and related ventures during his early career, including the Simply Natural Pie Company and Idaho Waste Systems Regional Landfill.  Since 2004, John has focused on developing sites for wind-powered electric generation, having developed the 129MW Mountain Air windfarm, 43MW Bennett Creek and Hot Springs windfarms in Idaho, as well as the 60 MW Echo wind farm and 59MW Huntington Windfarm in Oregon.

In partnership with NRE, John leads the effort to identify the most suitable locations for new renewable development projects in Idaho and working landowners to secure them.  He also assists NRE with local representation in the permitting process and other community stakeholder relations, as well as with managing physical on-site activities.
